CARLSBAD, Calif. (September 9, 2024) – A 34-year-old Englishman used Nippon Shaft steel shafts in his irons and wedges to win a sudden death playoff on the DP World Tour’s Omega European Masters over the weekend.

The Champion used Nippon Shaft’s N.S. PRO MODUS³ TOUR 120x steel shafts in his irons and wedges to shoot 11-under par 269 with rounds of 64-62-73-70 at Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club in Crans Montana, Switzerland. He made an 8-foot putt for birdie on the first playoff hole to secure the victory, which paid €496,979 ($551,000). It was his fifth win on the European circuit and put him 22nd in the Race to Dubai standings.

In Japan, last week’s Champion made it two in a row by winning the Shinhan Donghae Open in Incheon, South Korea. The 23-year-old used N.S. PRO MODUS³ Prototype steel shafts in his irons to shoot 22-under par 266 with rounds of 71-67-62-66 at the Ocean Course at Club72. He was the fourth Japanese player to win the 40-year-old tournament, which is tri-sanctioned by the Japan Golf Tour, the Asian Tour and the Korean PGA Tour.

There was another repeat winner in Japan on the JLPGA Tour at the Sony JLPGA Championship in Okinawa. The Champion, winner of six JLPGA tournaments in 2024, played the N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 120 in her irons and wedges. Last week’s win makes it two times she has won back-to-back tournaments in 2024.
