Nov 19, 2023
CARLSBAD, Calif. (November 19, 2023) – The winner of the CME Group Tour Championship used Nippon Shaft’s N.S. PRO 950GH neo shafts in her irons and wedges to shoot a record 27-under par in the LPGA’s final event of the year at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida.
After finishing in the top 10 in two major championships earlier this season, the 34-year-old Korean was tied with one other player at 25-under with four holes to play. When her playing partner made bogey on No. 16 and fell behind by one, she birdied Nos. 17 and 18 to win by one. She made only two bogeys in the 72-hole tournament in which she shot 68-63-64-66—261. She also made an eagle 2 on No. 13, dunking an 80-yard pitch shot.
The champion received a check for a record $2 million for her victory, her fifth LPGA title, her first since 2019 and her first on American soil.
“Nippon Shaft would like to congratulate the winner of the CME Group Tour Championship,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft. “We are pleased that the champion chose N.S. PRO 950GH neo shafts to compete in one of the richest and most competitive tournaments on the LPGA schedule.”
