NIPPON SHAFT WINS in PUERTO RICO

CARLSBAD, Calif. (March 6, 2023) – The champion of the Puerto Rico Open on Saturday used Nippon Shaft’s N.S.PRO MODUS³ N.S. PRO 130 X flex steel shafts in his irons (4-PW) to record his first PGA Tour victory.

The 28-year-old rookie from Colombia, who played his college golf at Arkansas, tied the tournament record at 21-under par with rounds of 67-67-65-68 at Grand Reserve Golf Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Two consecutive birdies on the back nine in the final round proved to be the difference. He collected $684,000 in first-place winnings, earned 300 FedExCup points and a received a spot in next week’s $25 million-dollar Players Championship.
