NIPPON SHAFT WINS SENIOR BRITISH OPEN

CARLSBAD, Calif. (July 30, 2018) – Nippon Shaft won its second consecutive senior men’s major Sunday (July 29) – and its third of the year - when the 54-year-old pony-tailed Spaniard captured the Senior Open Championship at St. Andrews in Scotland.

The champion used the Nippon Shaft N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 105 steel shafts in his irons and wedges to shoot a 12-under par total with rounds of 68-67-72-69—276 to win by one stroke at the home of golf. Two weeks ago, the winner of the Constellation Senior Players Championship won using N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 105 steel shafts in his irons and wedges as well.

Earlier this season, Sunday’s winner won the Regions Tradition – also a senior major – using the same complement of Nippon Shaft N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 105 steel shafts. He has now won six times in five seasons of senior golf.

Nippon Shaft’s MODUS³ models now has won 18 times this year on pro tours around the world and for the 141st time overall. It was the eighth win this year for the MODUS³ Tour 105 shaft.
