NIPPON SHAFT WINS on PGA TOUR at TORREY PINES

Jan 29, 2024

CARLSBAD, Calif. (January 29, 2024) – The winner of the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines used Nippon Shaft’s N.S.PRO MODUS³ 120 X flex shafts in his irons.

The 31-year-old Frenchman shot 13-under par 275 at the oceanside course, recording rounds of 69-65-72-69, including an unlikely birdie 4 from the deep rough on the last hole to avoid a playoff. The winner’s check for his first PGA Tour victory – and the first PGA Tour win for a native of France since World War II- was $1.62 million.

“Nippon Shaft would like to congratulate the winner of the Farmers Insurance Open,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft. “We are pleased that he became the first Frenchman in recent memory to win on the PGA Tour title and are excited to see how this victory propels his career higher in the future.”

The winner earned his spot on the PGA Tour by finishing in the top 10 on the DP World (European) Tour in 2023. Now he is exempt on the PGA Tour for the next two years.

More than 500 players on the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, European Tour and Korn Ferry Tour use Nippon Shaft’s N.S.PRO and MODUS³ series steel shafts to help gain their desired distance, accuracy, and trajectory.

Nippon Shaft products are available globally either as stock or custom shafts in many of the world’s top iron brands. Details of these can be found at www.nipponshaft.com
