CARLSBAD, Calif. (July 9, 2024) – A 28-year-old Scotsman used Nippon Shaft’s N.S. PRO MODUS³ Tour 120 x steel shafts in his irons and wedges to shoot 18-under par Sunday (July 7) and win the BMW International Open in Germany.
In addition to the €392,710 ($424,656) winner’s share of the purse, the champion received an exemption to next week’s Open Championship at Royal Troon, not far from where he grew up in Glasgow. It was his third victory on the DP World Tour.
“Nippon Shaft congratulates the winner on his third DP World Tour victory and is elated that he earned the right to play in the Open Championship,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft.
The winner shot rounds of 67-64-71-68—270 to win by two strokes at Golfclub Munchen Eichenried in Munich.
