MODUS³ Tour series now has 22 victories on major world tours this year

CARLSBAD, Calif. (October 5, 2020) – Players using Nippon Shaft’s Modus series of products recorded victories on both the PGA Tour and the Korn Ferry Tour on Sunday (Oct. 4), increasing the Modus series’ victory total to 22 on major global tours this year alone.

The 40-year-old Spaniard won the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Mississippi using Nippon Shaft’s N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 130 X flex steel shafts in his irons and wedges. He finished at 19-under par 269 with rounds of 68-68-66-67 at the Country Club of Jackson. It was his 11th PGA Tour victory and his first since he won the 2017 Masters. He earned $1.188 million.

Meanwhile, the 32-year-old Princeton alumnus earned his first Korn Ferry Tour title at the Savannah Golf Championship, using Nippon Shaft’s N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 120 X flex steel shafts in his irons and the N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 130 X flex steel shafts in his wedges. He holed a 10-foot birdie putt on the first hole of a sudden death playoff to win after making birdie on the 72nd hole to force overtime.

The ginger-bearded victor shot a 21-under par total 267 in regulation play with rounds of 64-67-67-69 at the Landings Club’s Deer Creek Course in Savannah, Georgia. The winner, who made 23 birdies and two eagles, earned $108,000.

The weekend’s victories bring to 224 the total number of global tour victories for the Modus series of steel shafts since they were introduced in 2010.
